Job Description:

With preliminary direction from a licensed architect, analyze client needs and utilize independent thinking to develop programmatic approaches and design concepts in and/or manage all phases of architectural design for a wide range of projects including domestic mixed-use development urban large scale corporate/commercial projects, corporate interiors, retail, education, and institutional projects, including new construction, renovation, tenant improvement, parking garage, and demolition/site preparation; translate clients’ functional and spatial requirements for structures into feasible design solutions, incorporating structural engineering principles and building systems into architectural designs; research domestic and international building codes and regulations, collect data, and write reports and presentations to incorporate research and data into architectural designs; develop space planning concepts and generate program documents based on clients’ functional and spatial requirements; develop and produce construction documentation, including documenting architectural plans, elevations, and details in imperial standards; produce initial design documentation and presentations to help kick start the project and gather information from the client with the use of rendered design drawings; collaborate on concept alternatives, studies and development requiring 3D digital massing, floor plans, space plans, building elevations, sections and perspectives; apply own judgment, analysis and computer skills to develop 3D building computer models and images, and presentation images; gather information on past projects, content development, quick turnaround concept development, 3D digital modeling, along with presentation and proposal design and formatting; prepare sketches, working drawings, architectural detail specifications for concept design presentations and presentation packages using 2D/3D CAD, building information modeling (BIM) software, and specialized design and drawing production tools and advanced modeling tools, including Revit, AutoCAD, Architectural Desktop, Enscape, SketchUp, Rhino3D, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign to develop 2D/3D models and photorealistic computer visualizations throughout entire design process and model complex geometry forms and general building and interior models; participate in meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and public agencies on a given project and coordinate for client and agency review and approval; perform necessary modifications of drawings and specifications as construction projects progress and changes in dimensions, materials, and other aspects of design arise from client, agency or public input; make corrections as indicated by Project Architect and Design Director to in-progress sets of design development and construction documents; analyze sketches, photographs, notes, and site survey of existing conditions & other input material to determine best approaches for completion of drawings to solve technical issues of design in relation to site conditions, building structure, HVAC, electrical and plumbing system, fire protection and materials for intricate detailing; coordinate design process from concept design through construction with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection (MEP/FP), structural, civil, A/V, IT, food service/kitchen, landscape, vertical transportation, code, acoustical, security, curtain wall, façade maintenance, sustainability, parking and lighting consultants to incorporate engineering systems into architectural designs to produce construction documentation, and secure client, tenant, landlord, and regulatory approval; perform necessary modifications of drawings and specifications as construction projects progress and changes in dimensions, materials, and other aspects of design arise from client, agency or public input; organize, file and distribute documents utilizing BIM360 and other construction coordination software; coordinate with project architects, project managers, clients, consultants, and contractors to respond to requests for information (RFI’s), clarifications, and modifications; apply architectural principles to review contractors shop drawings, submittals, samples and mockups; assist project managers and project architects with managing drawing standards and setting up project team software parameters and manual; assist in identifying weekly project requirements and projecting long term needs; conduct construction administration via site visits and issue field observation reports.

Job Requirements:

Salary Range

$80,080 – $84,240
